Does anyone know why Godric killed himself? Maybe I missed it, but it seemed like all he had to do was sign some papers and step off of his position of power. Was committing suicide in the fine print?

I loved the ending to this episode. Conversations about God from Godric.

this episode was so sad especially when godric was about to die, when he actually did burst into flames it was kind of anti-climatic wasnt it?

Wow. I sure hope Sookie and Eric don’t get together. Bill is much better for her.

I love this show. I can’t wait until next Sunday.

Bill is getting kind of pathetic with his “good boy” attitude. Sookie needs to move on to more charismatic Eric.

I can’t believe there are only 3 episodes left. I want more.

In the books, Godric met the sun because he felt he deserved to be punished for all the innocent he killed. He could no longer live with himself, and he was also known to prey on young children.

You people are genius…thanks for posting that Godric dies before anyone else can watch the episode.

I cannot believe people at HBO wanting Bill to be the leader role. ERIC IS WAY BETTER!. Bill is kind of pathetic, boring and “small as a person” (not need to mention he is NO HOT AT ALL, AND OLD), in the book he lie to Sookie twice and she moves on for Eric even though in the 9th book, at the end, it is not pretty clear which one will she finally end up with. I think the character of Sookie is just afraid of Eric, who is, deeply, her real soul mate. He gets her, and he have loved her since the start, just that he doesn´t like to feel emotions or weakness for anything neither anyone.
Hopefully they will stick to the book more and give us the placer of seeming Eric and Sookie fall in true love together.

Thanks for uploading the video, you rock!

I see where you are coming from Jeremy, but it is kinda asking for trouble to read the posts before you watched the episode. Which is precisely why I watched tbe episode before I read the posts!

    Who played Godric?

I loved this episode. Eric rocks and now things are getting interesting!!!! The character of Godric died in the book, too..but he was a cool character. The actor, Allan Hyde, was simply adorable!! Maybe they will put flashbacks of him and Eric with their early beginnings. Finally, Eric’s presence is getting known and yep, Bill is in trouble!!! Each episode keeps getting better and better!!

It explains why he kills himself so much better in the book. He was a really bad vampire and molested and killed children and he was pretty much disgusted with himself.

I can’t stop watching Sookie’s dream sequence. Fucking hottest thing i have ever seen in my life. I agree, I hope Sookie and Eric get together… maybe not as a couple.. friends with benefits maybe? Haah. I’m getting kinda bored of Bill. He’s alright… their relationship bores the tears outta me though. Alexander Skarsgard is just the sexiest damn Swede I have ever seen. Did you SEE his ass?!?

I wish the series was a littler more similar to the book. I guess they did it for the drama… in the book Eric is not so bad and Bill turns out to be bad. Lorena, should have not appeared on this season, I don’t know what are they going to do for the next season now :(

  19. Posted by: tamara - 08/21/2009

wow, i cried at the end. Godric is pretty much the most awesome vampire ever. Yea, bill is getting boring, and eric is much better looking

Nice episode, still it really sucks how much people are rooting for the Eric/Sookie get together. Eric and Bill from the series are different from the characters in the book, there’s no incentive other than good looks for her to switch. The Eric in the tv show is pretty much portrayed as an egotistical and manipulative character while Bill is an all around good guy altho he isn’t perfect. What I’m saying is that I hope the writers do a lot more character development before/if they want to make Sookie switch. “she drank the blood and fell under his spell” would be just a realy realy cheap plot device in my opinion.

All that said, I love the show.

eric used the same ploy on sookie in the books. It is exactly how it happened. He had to do this to establish a connection!

  22. Posted by: Carrie - 08/23/2009

I totally agree that Bill has lost the flame. Eric is my favorite, I did dream about him but no where near Sookies dream of him, darn.
They are connected now, something is bound to happen.

bill’s about as boring as watching paint dry!!

Cant wait to see how maryann’s takeover ends!

  28. Posted by: Minx - 08/26/2009

This episode was interesting, BUT the end really didn’t live up to expectations, the “bursting” into flames was really more of a crawl… *sigh* After the books the episodes are wayyyy less action!!!

  29. Posted by: Tyler - 08/26/2009

    that was a good ep

in reply to missy’s comment about lorena….if you read the books lorena abducts bill in the 3rd book which leads to eric and sookie getting together in the fourth. for the show’s sake i hope that they included lorena in this season as a pretext to why she takes bill. when he says in episode 8 “you’re dead to me” and she replies “i wish you hadn’t said that.” this will explain for viewers why she then wants to hurt him next season. if you have read the books you will remember that she is the one who traps bill in mississippi. and sookie ultimately kills her to save bill, however this does prove to be the end of bill and sookie’s relationship. i also hope that they do continue on with the books’ plots to this end.

and in reply to jeremy’s comment yes the subtext is sucide. in the books godric does go to the fellowship of the light soley to commit sucide. he has grown weary of immortality and even his own behavior in the 1000+ years he has lived.

also i hope they add the sub-plot of the shifters from the book that begins in the second book adn continues on through the remainer of the books. as daphine does not appear in the books until the 6th one for a much different purpose than to be maryann’s minion.

  31. Posted by: Mara - 08/31/2009

godric killed himself because he was 2000 years old and tired of living

  32. Posted by: Andrea - 09/06/2009

Well…It’s kinda sad Godric chose to die, i really liked him. And Eric… he’s so hot :d even tho he’s a bastard
