Love True Blood! The bit where the Dr was treating Sookie’s wounds looked so disgusting and painful!! Uggh.. I watched it over and over cos I loved it so much.

True Blood’s a good Summer series for sure, but it’s got nothing on LOST, Big Love, or Heroes.

Season 2 is getting better and better. This episode was the best one so far and freaky too. Love the suspense build up. What will happen next! HBO has a major hit here!

Poor Sookie! That was some attack & quite the painful cure. So, Daphne has been attacked; bet she is either a “demon” too now or crazy. What’s with the pigs? In Maryann’s playhouse? In the road when Tara got her DUI? Etc?

Ugh we have to wait until July 12th for the next episode which sucks! I wonder if Daphnie is the one who scratched Sookie, because if that bull creature had attacked her then wouldn’t she have been dying? I hate when they end in cliffhangers for every episode and this time we have to wait even longer to get more answers.

Ive never read the books but here goes.
My theory is that Maryann is in fact the greek mythical witch known as Circe, whom turned her enemies into animals with potions she cooked up. She turned Odysseus and his men into pigs and lured her victims with great feasts. Her immortality is explained by the fact she is the daughter of the Titan god Helios and and the Oceanid Titan Perse.
An interesting point is that Circe’s sister is Pasiphae, mother of the Minotaur.

Then again another theory is that Maryann is the human form of Dionysus, god of drunken revelry and the bull creature is in fact a maenad, dionysus monstrous servants whom often killed many people in their raves.

I love this show first of all!
And as far as the pigs + Maryann Foster, she is a Maenad who are often placed with boars in greek mythology. Maenads require all other mythical beings that are around alcohol to pay them a tide, if not they go on a rampage. They also feed off lust and destructive behaviour, which explains the scene in Sam’s bar when Maryann makes all the people dance. It also explains her crazy/nude pool party and the scene where she shows Tara and her boyfriend/exboyfriend (I can’t recall his name) the statue named “Pan and the Maenad”
She is most likley the Maenad, and took the form of that creature to attack Sookie because Sookie has an ability and has not payed her tribute. Maenads are women followers of the greek god, Dionysus.

Read the books, people.
They will answer some questions, however the HBO writers seem to be taking LOTS of liberties with the storyline.
The books are awesome and you can read them as fast as you want instead of waiting for weeks to find out what happens next.

Why does everyone think the vampire looks good. He looks old enough to be sookies dad or something. Her brother looks cute & the guy that killed all those females was cute until he started looking all crazy chasing sookie. LoL

well I so hope HBO keeps up the good work and gets Sookie with Eric… they are like soulmates in the books. and the books are aMAZing! so wonderful, charlaine harris is brilliant, and whoever said big love and last were better shows have bumped their heads! True blood is a show for so many different demographics! Definitly take the time to read all 9 bookis in the sookie stackhouse series, I can’t wait til may 2010 when the 10th book is released!!
