Rene is the killer in the show. He was one of the only three people that new that Jason stackhouses new girlfriend was into doing V, and the night after Rene found that out the next morning jason woke up and she was dead. And Rene also told Jason that he had a date so he could not hang out that night so that he could have time to kill jasons girlfriennd

I did not read the books, but based on the clues, I’m fairly certain Rene is the killer.
the killer was fairly short, white, male, who wears his clothes baggy and also wears work boots.
Terry is tall, the Church boy is tall, Jason and Sam are accounted for. That really only leaves Rene.

I love this show and i also read the books just picked them up the start of the season and can’t seem to put them down. And as of right now Bill is not doing what you say he is doing untill next season. anyways if everything was like the book do you think people would read it? you have to mix things up or it will get boring so i like what they have done here and as for the killer i believe the writters will keep that the same as the book, because that is a big part of the show and the book because next season what are you going to expect?

Stop ruining things for those who are watching these episodes… or at least put something like *spoiler* before your post! I’m a new fan of True Blood and I accidentally scrolled down and saw a sentence with who the killer was. I mean, its great you’ve read the books, I’m going to too (in fact I’ve already ordered the series) but you shouldn’t spoil the fun for those who haven’t.

So i agree with ASH why was sam all over dawn’s sheets smelling them and stuff a few episodes ago? that creeped me out. And do the bite marks go away? Because in this episode Sookie no longer had any when she was talking Sam at home, but Dawn and Maudette still had them after awhile.

Well, Rene is the killer and the first season is finished. I cant wait for season 2! Guys, you should read the books! They’re better than the series.. And Eric is not so handsome in the series too.. I don’t like his forehead. Ugh! They kinda ruined my wonderful imagination! LOL

*spoiler* Ok so it’s been established that Rene is/was the killer until he got a shovel through his throat by Sookie and neither he or Terry are werewolves.
And my guess… now this is just a guess as to why Sookie didn’t still have bite marks but Maudette and Dawn did was maybe because they had sex with a vampire shortly before Jason slept with them and the bite marks hadn’t had the time to heal.
Also addressing the question as to why Sam was rolling around smelling Dawn’s sheets? Um he’s a dog… enough said. The easiest thing for him to shift into is a dog and dogs have a hightened sense of smell. He was attempting to pick up the killer’s scent and save it to memory, no only that but he was probably remenicing about Dawn as well. There was that picture of the two of them together… If any of ya’ll have dogs take a second and pay attention to how they react when they jump in your bed. I’ve seen my puppy do that when my parents go away for a while and I’m house sitting.

but seriosly this show is not as good as the books but it is pretty entertaining. My biggest problem with it is like the casting. none of the characters are right, except sam and bill, maybe pam
